Acceptance

By installing or using Anonium you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply alongside the privacy policy and the refunds and subscription terms.

The service

Anonium lets you publish a link that others can use to send you text messages without revealing their identity to you. Messages are encrypted end to end and stored on the participating devices, not on our servers.

Eligibility

You must meet the minimum age required by the app store rating in your country, and by any applicable law, to use Anonium. You are responsible for ensuring that use of the app is lawful where you are.

Acceptable use

Anonymity is not a licence to harm people. You must not use Anonium to:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate any person
• Send sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises a minor in any way
• Blackmail, extort, defraud or deceive for gain
• Incite violence, self-harm or hatred against people or groups
• Distribute malware, phishing or other malicious material
• Impersonate a specific person in order to deceive
• Break any law, or infringe anyone's rights
• Attempt to identify, deanonymise or track another user
• Interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or circumvent the service, its limits or its safety mechanisms
• Use automated systems to create identities or send messages at scale

Because messages are end to end encrypted, we cannot read or moderate their contents. Enforcement therefore relies on technical measures such as rate limiting and abuse signals, and on the tools given to you directly.

Links are not permitted

Anonium does not allow links of any kind in messages. Link-like content is automatically removed on the sending device. Attempting to defeat this restriction, for example by obfuscating a web address, is a breach of these terms.

Reporting and enforcement

Any recipient may report a message. Doing so sends that message and a small amount of surrounding context to us for human review, and immediately blocks the sender for that recipient.

Each account carries a standing score. Reports reduce it. Where a report is upheld we may restrict an account's functionality or permanently close it, at our discretion and without notice. We take reports involving a minor or a credible threat most seriously, and such accounts are removed permanently.

If you are in danger, please contact your local emergency services. Anonium holds no identity information about its users, so we are not able to tell anyone who sent a message.

Submitting reports in bad faith, or to harass another user, is itself a breach of these terms and may result in losing access.

Your content

You retain all rights to what you write. We claim no ownership and no licence over message content, and we are technically unable to access it. You are solely responsible for what you send.

Safety tools and self-help

Because we cannot see message content, control sits with you. You can report any message for review, block a conversation permanently, delete it from your device, pause your link so nobody new can reach you, and renew your link — which retires the old link everywhere and ends conversations tied to it. If someone is abusing you through Anonium, these tools are the fastest remedy. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Premium subscriptions

Premium is an optional recurring subscription that unlocks convenience and appearance features. It never affects the encryption or privacy guarantees, which are identical on both tiers. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are covered in the refunds and subscription terms.

Availability and changes to the service

Anonium is provided on an ongoing but not guaranteed basis. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We perform scheduled system maintenance and updates; you acknowledge and agree that the service may be temporarily unavailable for scheduled maintenance, typically lasting up to 1 hour per week, and that such periodic outages do not entitle you to any refunds or subscription offsets. We may impose limits on usage to keep the service stable and to deter abuse.

Termination

You may stop using Anonium at any time by deleting your identity in the app, which erases your record on our side and your conversations on the device. We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect users or the service, or where use breaches these terms.

What Anonium can and cannot do

We want to be plain about the boundaries, because anonymity is easy to misread:

• Anonium hides a sender's identity from the recipient. Anyone you personally give your link to already knows they are messaging you.
• Anonium cannot stop someone identifying themselves, deliberately or accidentally, in what they write.
• Anonium cannot stop a person screenshotting, copying or repeating a message elsewhere.
• If a link is shared privately with one person, that person may be able to infer who replied. Our safety checks reduce this risk but cannot remove it.
• We cannot read encrypted conversations, so we cannot proactively detect abuse. Enforcement depends on users reporting it.
• We cannot recover an identity, a link or message history once erased or renewed. There is no backup.
• Message delivery depends on mobile push services and is not guaranteed. Anonium detects and reports gaps rather than concealing them, but cannot promise every message arrives.

Anonium is a communication tool, not a security service, and should not be relied upon where your physical safety or legal position depends on remaining unidentified.

Disclaimers

Anonium is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that messages will always be delivered.

Because your conversations exist only on your device and we hold no backup, loss or replacement of your device means permanent loss of that history. This is an intended property of the design.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modullium is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for loss of data or message history, or for the conduct of other users. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version, and continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
